After lunch, the trip goes to the Karnak temple, which was built and rebuilt by many kings through several dynasties. The walls of the temple can tell stories of great feats both through words and reliefs. In the evening, the temple can be experienced in a different way; through a magnificent "Sound and Light Show" (ordered separately). Accommodation takes place in Luxor and dinner is taken on board the boat.
This day is set aside for the world's largest outdoor museum in Luxor. The whole morning is spent on the West Bank of the Nile. Here are the magnificent colorful tombs, the architecturally beautiful Hatshepsuth Terrace Temple, as well as the Memnon colossi. After the visit we sail south with stops in Edfu and Kom Ombo where we spend the night.
After breakfast, the journey continues to Aswan. This day is enjoyed on the sun deck on board while life along the Nile slowly slips by. Here the women do both the dishes and the laundry by the river bank while the children play and bathe. The men are out in their small boats fishing. The riverside villages still look as they did hundreds of years ago. Late in the evening the boat arrives in Aswan.
Opportunity for a trip to the Aswan dam and to the granite quarry with The Unfinished Obelisk. In this granite quarry, the Egyptians already took their granite 4 - 5000 years ago to their enormous buildings that we can admire to this day. The afternoon can be used for sailing around the islands in the Nile in the traditional sailing boats felucca (ordered separately and not included in the excursion package). The evening is at your disposal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on board.
Relaxing day in Aswan or opportunity to visit the Temple of Abu Simbel which is the last temple Ramses II built in the Nubian desert, about 3200 years ago. It is located 280 km south of Aswan, and is a mighty temple built into the mountain. When the Aswan Dam was built, the temple had to be dismantled and moved from the masses of water in Lake Nasser. In collaboration with Unesco, the temple was rebuilt, and it is exactly today as it was when it was built. On February 22 and October 22, the sun shines into the temple on 4 statues of the king. This is nature's celebration of Ramses II's birthday and coronation. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on board.
We sail back to Kom Ombo & Edfu. After lunch there is a visit to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of the best preserved temples in Egypt, built during the Greek period. In the evening, after quiet hours on the sun deck, the boat will arrive at Esna where the locks must be passed before the boat arrives at Luxor during the night. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served on board.
Check out from the boat and transfer to the airport in Luxor. Flights from Luxor to Sharm take approx. 40 min. and after arriving at the airport in Sharm el Sheikh, you will be taken to your hotel for sunbathing, swimming and relaxing on the glorious shores of the Red Sea.
